On October 5, 2011 the Detroit Historical Society with the assistance of the Detroit Police Underwater Search & Recovery Team raised a two century old British cannon from the Detroit River. The cannon was discovered during an earlier police training mission and moved to the edge of the river with lift bags. On the October date the cannon was lifted from the water with a crane truck amid a crowd of media and onlookers. This is the fourth such cannon found in this vicinity within the last few decades. This 13 minute film begins with a tour of the Detroit Historical Museum, continues with the raising of the cannon and concludes with a visit to the British Fort Michilimackinac, one of several locations where such a cannon might have been used. This film was produced and shot by Tony Gramer and edited by Richard Castillo.
